The Problem

You probably know the feeling:

You ask the assistant on your phone, across the room, to send a colleague a message.

It cheerfully replies that it found 10 search results for “text Bob on Slack”.

So you trudge to your phone, find the app, open the DM, and begrudgingly type out your message instead.

We wanted a better personal assistant, one that had the intelligence and integrations we’ve come to expect from our AI agents, with the convenience of one that was native to your devices. We also believe that for AI to truly be personal, it needs to be deeply integrated into your life and the world around you. Right now, AI systems are constrained largely to using digital tools, yet the physical world is rich with audio and visual information that your phone is capable of receiving.

What We Built

So we built Touchy. One button press and you're instantly talking to an assistant that can see what you see, remember what you've said, and take action across all the tools you use. 

What sets Touchy apart:

• Reimagined UX. Touchy is a fast, fully iOS-native app with a unique interface that is delightful to use and brings it closer to the world around you.
• Sees and hears the world around you. Speak to Touchy and it can speak back. Easily snap a photo with the app’s camera to give Touchy access to what you’re seeing.
• Gets things done across your apps. Touchy comes with built-in integrations with 1,000+ popular apps, as well as iOS-native capabilities such as you contacts and location.
• Make it yours over time. You chat with Touchy in a single, continuous conversation. It automatically collects memories and preferences, and tailors itself to be more useful to you as you use it.

The team

We’re Rohit, Andrew, and Kev. Before this, Rohit was doing a PhD on AI alignment at Google DeepMind Princeton and graduated #1 in Berkeley EECS. Andrew built educational software that scaled to half a million students worldwide. Kev was a startup founding engineer, developing data and GPU infrastructure that power many of the leading AI neolabs today. 

We met during undergrad at UC Berkeley, and we’re coming back together to research, productionize, and scale the future of personal technology.
