We’re disrupting the disruptors.

You’ve heard of so many AI accounting startups already. These new “AI-native” accounting firms are still designed to be run by humans in two facets: the first 25%, fostering client relationships, and the final 25%, signing off and filing with the IRS.

Josh Kushner’s company, Thrive Holdings, the largest disruptor in this space, explicitly argues that agents will never replace this [1]. Their reasoning? Agents don’t carry trust.

Currently, agents are not trusted, humans are. That’s why every AI startup nowadays does the work, and leaves judgment to a human. But this is changing, and we’re early. As new agent-centric companies grow (Instinct, Natural, AgentMail), agents become common in daily life and work, and eventually will become trusted entities [2].

Once agents are trusted, there is no reason they cannot own entire, traditionally trust-heavy industries, end-to-end. Rational is building for that world.
