Omnara is an open-source platform for creating and interacting with production-ready agents via an API, without having to worry about the tedious parts of managing an agent control plane. It’s an open-source alternative to Claude Managed Agents, Langchain Managed Agents, Vercel Eve, etc.

Problem:

Building agents is hard. Many companies are building agent control planes, both for internal use and external use. The common pattern is you use some local agent framework, like claude agent sdk, mastra, langchain, or your own loop, host that on VMs/kubernetes/workers, expose an API with endpoints to interact with agents, handle machine failures, resumption of an agent, provisioning sandbox environments so those agents can code, configure endpoints to add skills and MCPs, have user message tracking, audit logs, and on and on.

It’s a lot of infrastructure work that has nothing to do with what the agent actually does. And most teams end up having to build and maintain their own versions of it.

Omnara is that layer. It provides this infrastructure for you. So you can create and interact with your agents through a standard API without having to worry about building and maintaining your own control plane.

Bring your own computer:

Run this on any linux or macOS machine (windows coming soon):

It connects the machine to the Omnara control plane. You can then give any agent access to this machine. This allows you to spin up an EC2 instance and have your agents use that as a persistent machine, or even run it on your macbook so that cloud agents can directly edit files locally when it’s online. You can also bring your own sandbox provider API keys (currently we support Blaxel, Daytona, and Unikraft).

Bring your own model:

Omnara allows you to bring your own LLM endpoint and API key (we support OpenAI Responses, OpenAI Completions, and Anthropic Messages formats, with more coming soon). You can use your hundreds of thousands of free LLM credits from YC in Omnara!

Because you can bring your own machine and models, you can use Omnara for completely free! Our architecture allows us to efficiently host hundreds of millions of agents on minimal hardware, so we can easily eat that cost.
