Miniswap

The Marketplace for Complex Hobbies

Miniswap a marketplace for complex hobbies, starting with Warhammer. In hobbies as complex as Warhammer, finding what you want on general marketplaces is a huge pain. Filters don't work, free-form listings mean that products are regularly misidentified, and piles of counterfeit junk crowd search results. Miniswap saves hobbyists from this chaos with its catalogue of more than 20,000 unique miniatures. Sellers match their listings against Miniswap's catalogue giving buyers more information and structure as they shop. The global market for tabletop games is estimated to be worth $20B in 2025 and Warhammer alone is projected to grow to $3B by 2030. By capturing the market in this untapped niche, Miniswap is strongly positioned to bringing greater transparency, simplicity, and connectivity into adjacent verticals. Miniswap's founding team merges deep domain knowledge with elite programming expertise and years of experience in business consulting and startups. Co-founders Zak and Will met while studying together at Cambridge, bonded over their love of Warhammer and early modern history. They have been best friends ever since.

Introducing Miniswap — The Marketplace for Tabletop Games

The Problem: Buying Wargaming Minis is a Huge Pain

Tabletop games like Warhammer have incredibly complex taxonomies – one kit can be built into ten different models all with different roles in the game. Without a uniform description, sellers create information-sparse listings that do not accurately describe what they are selling.

Doomscrolling through generic marketplaces trying to find what you’re looking for has become a rite of passage in the wargaming hobby. Browsing existing marketplaces is like sifting through a junk drawer of mislabeled minis and knock-offs.

The result? Buyers can’t find what they want and sellers can’t move their inventory.

Miniswap’s Solution: One Catalogue to Rule Them All

We’re making it easier for buyers and sellers of tabletop gaming products to connect

Using AI, we’ve built a comprehensive catalogue of every miniature released over the past 25 years -- more than 20,000 of them -- with data on every detail buyers and sellers care about. This gives our users:

  • 1) A better buying experience: gamers can now search for the exact miniature they want, and drill down by the attributes that actually matter to them.
  • 2) A better selling experience: As a seller, all you need to do is take a photo of your miniature(s) and Miniswap will automatically create an accurate and detail-rich listing for you.

Our high-resolution catalogue also gives us the ability to displace generic online store and inventory management systems like Shopify.
