TL;DR: We move data center campuses offshore, away from communities, onto standardized barges we build on a single manufacturing line. That gets us near-free cooling, no interconnection queue, no local opposition, and 2x faster deployment. First gas-powered pilot ready by 2028.

Why now: AI has created unprecedented demand for compute and power that cannot be satisfied onshore.

  • Grid interconnection timelines are approaching a decade.
  • Data centers drive up the local cost of electricity, rent and land, and make water scarce. Community opposition rising from those reasons has killed more than half of planned projects since 2025.

What we're building: standardized, plug-and-play data center barges, built on one manufacturing line and towed to site. Moving offshore gives us:

  • No interconnection queue and no community impact because our system operates standalone.
  • More scalable architecture that offers faster deployment and tighter-controlled deliverability due to centralized construction and repeated site licensing
  • Lower energy cost due to less capacity overbuild than onshore behind-the-meter and cheaper financing for repeatable manufacturing compared to on-site construction (financing = ~2/3 of the lifetime cost of a nuclear project)
  • Virtually free cooling from seawater.

Traction: We already have early partnerships in place across the two hardest parts of this build:

  • Offshore design & construction: working with established offshore barge designer/builders.
  • Nuclear power: partnerships with multiple SMR vendors.

Why us: We're a two-founder team out of MIT with the exact mix this needs.

  • @Emile Germonpre has a PhD in nuclear engineering.
  • @Dimitris Koutentakis has a BS/MEng in EECS, an MS in Mechanical Engineering, and an MBA, all from MIT, with deep connections to the Greek shipping industry.
