⏩ TL;DR

ArchiLabs is building an AI BIM tool for production homebuilders and MEP engineers. Traditional BIM tools like Revit or AutoCAD aren’t built for AI-first workflows and often lack customizability that MEP and production homebuilders need to accomplish their workflows.

We can handle complex nested design options, complex calculations and layouts, and do auto documentation.

😩 The Problem

Architects & engineers are talented, but the tools they use (like Revit) to draft homes and buildings are from the early 90s. The tools are clunky and slow to iterate in. This means that the iteration process is slowed down and leaves less time for filling in important construction details at the end.

👌 The Solution

ArchiLabs is building a BIM tool from the ground up built for humans and agents to collaborate. We are starting with large homebuilders and MEP engineers because existing tools underserve these markets.

🤠 The Team + Backstory

William graduated with a degree in computer science from Carnegie Mellon, then went on to work at Facebook. He realized his passion was the built world and set out to build homes from scratch in Texas where he experienced this frustration first hand. He then set out to build his own CAD tool.

Brian graduated with a degree in ECE from Carnegie Mellon and went on to run a YC-backed tech-enabled homebuilding factory. He had a lot of frustrations with the architectural back-and-forth, primarily stemming from the limitations of existing tools. He then went on to build and sell an AI transcription startup.

Brian and William met back up, sharing the same vision for reimaging the construction design experience and eventually taking on Autodesk, the $60B industry-leader.
