TLDR: Risklytics is a commercial insurance brokerage for companies building with AI in the physical space, from robot fleets on customer sites to agents running in production. This year many insurance companies stopped covering risks that involve AI. We find the insurers that will still cover it, translate what you're building into terms they can price, and read every clause before anything is signed.

The problem

Starting this year, many insurance companies began excluding coverage for injury and property damage arising out of AI.

For a hardtech company that language reaches everything you do. If AI touched the work anywhere, including the tools your engineers designed it with or the product itself, the insurer can deny the claim.

The problem with these exclusions is that they get added account by account, so the same hardware can be covered at one insurer and excluded at the next, and nothing in the process makes that obvious. It shows up as a form number on the endorsement list attached to your renewal, which is why most founders don't learn they have one until they file a claim.

Why now

Physical AI is scaling faster than the insurance market underneath it. Insurance moves slower, and its first instinct with an unfamiliar risk is to exclude it and wait for loss data. Cyber went the same way: exclusions first, then specialists who understood it, then a real market. AI is at the exclusion stage now, and these companies pushing the frontier can't wait for the cycle to finish on its own.

What we do

We handle the whole coverage process end to end.

You send us an application. We take what you're building and put it in terms an insurance company can understand and price.

Then we go to market. We have access to hundreds of insurance companies, the ones that actually write this kind of risk, and we take your file to them. Most will pass. The few that want it compete on price and terms, and we keep shopping until every requirement you have is met, including the limits your customer contracts demand.

When offers come back we read the policies line by line. If an AI exclusion is attached, we push to get it removed, or we find a company that writes the AI coverage in on purpose. Then we tell you in plain terms what you've got.

We cover the lines your company actually needs: general liability, umbrella, property, equipment in transit and on customer sites, workers' comp, professional liability, management liability, and cyber.

You never pay us. The insurance company pays us a commission out of the premium when a policy is placed, so applying costs you nothing and there's no additional fee from us at any point.

Where this goes

Physical AI is expanding faster than any industry, and every company in it buys insurance every year for as long as it exists. The programs grow as the fleets grow.

We want to be the brokerage that grows with them: the people who know this risk best, hold the relationships with the markets that write it, and build the loss data of the future.

Why us

We're Sam and Alex, on leave from Harvard. We were already in insurance building models when we noticed that batch mates building some of the most innovative technology in the world couldn't get covered at all. Since then we’ve landed partnerships to offer these frontier companies easier access to better policies.

The ask

If you're building anything on the frontier, apply at risklytics.ai. It takes a few minutes, it costs nothing, and we'll come back with what the market says.

It doesn't matter what you have in place today. If you're building, we want to get you covered.

And if you're an insurer, MGA or wholesaler with appetite here, we want to talk: risklytics.ai/markets
