I studied computer science at UCSD, where I led AI and autonomy for Mars cave exploration drones and worked on multimodal AI safety for vision-language-action robots. My co-founder and I met building rocket engines, and I’ve since worked across 10+ test campaigns in the Mojave Desert.

Hey! We’re Anchit Kumar and Darell Chua, the founders of Daqstra.

We met while testing liquid rocket engines in the Mojave Desert.

The engines were difficult, but much of the friction came from the infrastructure around them. Before each test, we connected sensors, custom electronics, NI hardware, PLCs, and controllers that were never designed to work together. After each run, the data was scattered across machines, file formats, scripts, and people’s heads.

Before we could learn from one test, we often had to reconstruct what had happened.

After talking with teams building rockets, energy systems, robots, and drones, we kept hearing the same story: their hardware was advancing faster than the infrastructure used to test it.

Daqstra works with the equipment teams already have, including NI/LabVIEW, PLCs, custom DAQ systems, sensors, controllers, and vendor hardware.

  • Daqstra Edge connects hardware at the test site and records commands alongside the resulting telemetry.
  • Daqstra Hub stores each run with its configuration, events, notes, and engineering context, making it easier to monitor tests, compare runs, and investigate anomalies.
  • Daqstra API lets engineers configure hardware and execute repeatable test sequences through software.

Together, these give teams one interface across otherwise incompatible hardware without forcing them to replace their existing stack.

What We’re Already Doing

We’re working with advanced hardware teams across aerospace, energy, and drones. Our active aerospace programs use Daqstra day to day across fragmented, multi-vendor test environments.

In energy, we’ve signed a pilot with a palm oil processor targeting $100K+ in annual savings by reducing recoverable oil lost through its effluent stream. We’re also helping drone teams unify telemetry, control, and test data across vehicles and ground systems.
