Y Combinator Launch

We’re Marguerite and Paul, we left robotics research at MIT and Harvard to build AquaShield. AquaShield is a water damage prevention system built for large real estate portfolios.

We started building this solution on MIT campus, with the facilities team and are now working with one of the largest residential portfolios in the world.

The Problem

Water damage is the biggest preventable loss in real estate, more than fire and theft combined.

Real estate portfolios lose up to hundreds of millions in water damage each year. They rely on reactive maintenance. Most water leaks are only discovered by tenant complaints, visual signs or water-bill spikes.

Pipes are hard to monitor because they are mostly inaccessible, buried in drywall and concrete.

The Solution

We solve that problem with non-invasive sensors, strategically placed, and ML algorithms that can find the leak in noisy water consumption patterns and localize the source, down to the pipe segment. $100k+ remediation jobs turn into sub-$1k targeted fixes.

The result: portfolio-wide protection. Each building is protected for a fraction of the cost of a single major claim.

Our Ask

If you own or operate a real estate portfolio, we'd love to show you what this looks like in your buildings. Book a demo: aquashieldai.com
