Hi everyone, we're Axel, Oscar, Jon, and Douglas, founders of Zaplar.
TL;DR: Zaplar is an agentic hotel OS that replaces the fragmented hotel tech stack (PMS, booking engine, channel manager, POS, revenue management, housekeeping, and more) with one system built from the ground up for AI. We're eight people with backgrounds in hotel operations, engineering, AI research, and cybersecurity.
Ask: Intros to hotel owners and operators who are unhappy with their PMS, and to executives and C-suite at hotel groups planning their next core system replacement. Details at the bottom. Reach us at founders@zaplar.com.
Incumbents are bolting AI onto systems built for a different era. They provide a layer of AI to the end user, but the automations beneath it stay constrained. Their claim to use AI is correct. They just can't reason across the operation or automate work end to end.
No existing PMS or bolt-on solution gives hotels the architecture AI actually requires. And even if one did, a PMS alone still wouldn't automate hotel operations. It's one of as many as 15 systems a hotel runs, each built on a different architecture, each focused on one part of the operation, none able to act beyond its own boundaries.
AI can't run a hotel if it can't understand the hotel.
To unlock the full potential of AI, a hotel has to run on a single system with a unified architecture: one that lets AI reason across the entire property, free of the boundaries integrations create and the context each one isolates behind them. Incumbents can't build this without replacing the foundation their business depends on, and they won't.
We arrived at this the slow way. Douglas's family has spent their careers running hotels, and we first built Zaplar to solve event bookings for them. In demo after demo, hotels were already evaluating another PMS, including ones that had just switched. Even leading vendors did not make a product hotels wanted to use.
Zaplar was built on this thesis from the start: the first truly AI-native operating system for hotels. It’s the path of most resistance, but the only way to do it right.
Zaplar spatially maps out the entire property and its resources so that AI agents can reason across the hotel and understand how everything connects. On top of this architecture sit a PMS, POS, channel manager, booking engine, guest portal, housekeeping system, and more, with no boundaries between them. The result is an autonomous system that works in the background and completes work on its own. The system surfaces suggestions for staff to review, edit, and approve.
Our goal is to be vertically integrated. Beyond deeper automation and richer context, the greatest benefit is that we can put all our effort into staying at the forefront, because we're not constrained by what anyone else is doing. Major hotel groups are starting to replace their aging systems, and we intend to be the only option on the table designed for what comes after.
Hotel owners and operators. If you own or operate a hotel that is unhappy with its PMS, we would love to talk directly.
Executives and C-suite at hotel groups. This is the intro we want most. Anyone at the VP level or above at a group, especially COOs, CIOs, CTOs, and heads of operations or commercial, and above all anyone whose group is planning a core system replacement in the next 18 months.
Everyone else. You do not need to know their software situation to make the intro useful. We are focused on independents, small and mid-size groups, and boutique and luxury properties. If you have stayed somewhere you loved, send us the name and we will take it from there.
