❌ The Problem

Coding agents are fast and generate lots of code. But they often do things we don’t want them to. To name a few:

• Over-architecting and using the wrong abstractions
• Using obscure libraries for the job
• Early optimizations for future problems that will never exist

That said, it’s not really their fault! Builders need a tool that better aligns coding agents with our intent.

The Solution

A tool that highlights the most important and relevant design decisions early, makes it easy to compare tradeoffs, and helps you pick the spec that most accurately matches your intent.

👷 What we are building

Scott AI is the agentic workspace for software spec design. Scott lets teams orchestrate “swarms of experts” to debate architecture designs, making it easy for developers to discover and align on the best plan before handing it off to execution-oriented agents like Claude, Codex, or Cursor.

With Scott, teams grant multi-agent swarms of any model (Claude w/ Sonnet 4.1, Codex w/ GPT-5, etc.) secure, one-click access to their full codebase. Agents explore multiple design paths in parallel while Scott orchestrates a debate between them.

Scott then surfaces key divergences and lets builders choose the best options directly in the interface. Once aligned, your final design plan is shareable with your team, and fully portable to whatever tools you use to build.

Devin and David have known each other for over five years.

David (CEO & Co-Founder) is an ex staff software engineer and engineering manager from Coinbase. Over the past 4 years, David has been focused on building and evangelizing eng platforms to help Coinbase product engineers move faster + scale Coinbase to the next billion users. When he left, the teams that he helped build/lead powered 95% of UI at Coinbase, 65% of Coinbase edge traffic and were used by more than 700 engineers daily.

Devin (CTO & Co-Founder) is ex founding eng & head of mobile at Comun (Redpoint, Costanoa), KP Eng fellow, and consulting at Bain. At Comun, Devin was known for often landing projects slotted for multiple weeks in a single weekend. Stanford BS in CS, focus on AI.
