Founding Engineer

Miniswap is a marketplace for complex hobbies, starting with Warhammer.

We're looking for a founding full-stack engineer who is passionate about their hobbies -- whether it be Warhammer, Magic: The Gathering, mechanical keyboards, fountain pens, you name it.

We have an opinionated tech stack: deep use of PostgreSQL (composite types, functions, etc), Rust for our monolith, and HTMX with modern vanilla JS/CSS. Our mentality is to extract the utmost value we can get out of these technologies before introducing additional infrastructure and frameworks. You won’t be dealing with ORMs, npm, React, etc.

You should have familiarity with our stack, but prior professional Rust and HTMX experience is not a requirement. If you're excited to learn, and you're passionate about what we're building, that's enough for us.

As a founding engineer, you need to have a strong sense of ownership and autonomy, such that you can help shape our roadmap and design and implement features end-to-end.

This is a hybrid role, with 2-3 days of your choosing spent in-office in SF per week, with plenty of flexibility.
