Hey everyone! We’re [Mark](https://www.linkedin.com/in/markbuckler/), [Justin](https://www.linkedin.com/in/justinparus/), and [Diandre](https://www.linkedin.com/in/diandre-ruiz/) and we’re thrilled to introduce you to [Soundry AI](https://soundry.ai/): **a text-to-sound AI generator for musicians**. Our AI creates musical building blocks perfect for reducing friction in the music creation process.

#

# 🦸‍♂️ The Team

All three co-founders are united in their love of music. After completing his PhD in AI at Cornell, Mark got his start in the music industry by founding the [Codex Collective](https://codexcollective.co/press-kit), a live music event production company in Seattle. Justin quickly joined, and all three founders met for the first time when Diandre came to Seattle to perform as [Bandlez](https://www.instagram.com/bandlez/), the music project he co-founded. Justin is an engineer extraordinaire, first cutting his teeth on large-scale data processing during his time at Microsoft Azure. Diandre is a professional musician who has performed all over the world and written music with big names, including [Shaquille O’Neal](https://open.spotify.com/track/2oCzWh04Rt4WBr7StVUCHe)!

![uploaded image](/media/?type=post&id=78937&key=user_uploads/1320080/71009b68-f2c7-400e-afbc-466111c5784a)

# **🔇** The Problem

Music production technology has become increasingly democratized over the years, but creating a piece of music that you are proud of is just as challenging as it’s ever been. These days, most music is made by combining multiple audio recordings of individual instruments (called music samples) into a full song. Music sample libraries are easy to use which has led to massive growth for companies who provide them ([Splice,](https://www.crunchbase.com/organization/splice) [Output,](https://www.crunchbase.com/organization/output) etc), but they have a few key issues:

* Professional music producers are often prohibited from using sample libraries due to [copyright strike concerns](https://www.theverge.com/2020/2/17/21140838/justin-bieber-changes-running-over-asher-monroe-synergy-splice-sample-melody).
* Amateur music producers feel a lack of authenticity when using sounds made by someone else and struggle to make meaningful changes to them.

Generative AI offers a unique opportunity to build music creation tools that are easy to use and offer fine-grained artistic control. Unfortunately, existing AI music platforms ([Suno,](https://www.crunchbase.com/organization/suno-279f) [Boomy](https://www.crunchbase.com/organization/boomy), etc) offer very little customization and next to no ability to modify any generated output.

# **🎵** Our Solution

Our team at Soundry AI has led the charge by launching the first-ever text-to-sample generator. Our proprietary foundational latent diffusion transformer offers state-of-the-art audio quality due to the efforts of our research team and partnerships with leaders in electronic music production. As you can see in [the video below](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MT3k4VV5yrs&ab_channel=SoundryAI), musicians like Diandre can use our tool to create unique, high-quality, copyright-free samples perfect for their music projects.

This past week we released our newest product: [Infinite Sample Packs](https://www.youtube.com/shorts/fEfYkkon7YI). Now, all that a user needs to do is click a button to get accurate stylized sounds. Professionals have praised the quality and specificity of the sounds, and amateurs have been thrilled with the simplified interface.

# **📢** Call to Action

If making music is your thing, we’d love for you to try our sample generator [here!](https://soundry.ai/) We’d be so thankful if you to share our product with all of your musical friends, and if you have any questions then please reach out via [founders@soundry.ai.](mailto:founders@soundry.ai) We can’t wait to hear from you!
//bookface-static.ycombinator.com/assets/ycdc/yc-og-image-c440a0ad1dacfb86eeeb343717479cc54d256614449b4ef719977a0a451f8bc8.png
["Social Media","Music","AI","AI Assistant
https://bookface.ycombinator.com/company/29382"}}
