We're Robinhood for pre-IPO startups. Everyone can invest $100.
We've raised over a billion dollars for thousands of founders in all 50 states, from ostrich farms to unicorns like Substack, Replit, & Mercury.
We're a Public Benefit Corporation with a mission to keep the American dream alive. We're fighting to keep America defined by optimism, innovation, and opportunity—the best place for the ambitious to turn ideas into reality.
We believe America is full of untapped talent, and that helping more founders get off the ground leads to a better future. Our goal is to help 20,000 more founders get off the ground. We're just getting started.
We're a team of founder types: enjoy autonomy, responsibility, the opportunity to learn, and no red tape. Just make it happen.
We're looking for a designer who obsesses over how things feel — the 200ms fade that makes a page feel alive, the hover state that invites a click, the scroll animation that makes you want to keep going.
Wefunder moves real money. People are making investment decisions on our platform. The difference between a UI that feels trustworthy and one that feels sketchy often comes down to the micro-details: timing curves, easing functions, loading states, transitions between views. That's your world.
You'll work alongside our Lead Designer and engineers to bring polish and life to every surface of the product. You're not just designing screens — you're choreographing how the whole experience moves.
We're very good at figuring out visa sponsorship when required.
We're strong believers in an in-person culture. Our HQ is in San Francisco — we have two offices, one in the Mission and one in Seacliff with a view of the Golden Gate Bridge.
We're a small team of ~30 that hires carefully. In this new AI world, one star can outcompete 10 average people. We'd rather stay lean, move fast, and spend our time building — not navigating big-company bureaucracy.
We're tight-knit enough to spend 10 days on a train together without killing each other. Four times over the years, we've all taken the Amtrak coast to coast, stopping in 12 cities. We're a team of doers and thinkers who are insatiably curious — not just about work, but about kickboxing, mountaineering, chess, and everything in between.

Motion is your medium.
You think in keyframes and easing curves. You know the difference between ease-out and cubic-bezier(0.16, 1, 0.3, 1) — and you have an opinion about when to use each. Animation isn't decoration to you; it's communication.
Pixel-perfect eye.
You see the 1px misalignment everyone else missed. You notice when letter-spacing is off by 0.02em. You're the person who screenshots a UI and circles the thing that's bugging you before anyone else even noticed.
Ship it, don't just spec it.
You can build what you design. Whether it's CSS animations, Framer Motion, Lottie, or GSAP — you're comfortable implementing your own work in code. Bonus if you're using AI tools like Cursor or Replit to move even faster.
Taste over trends.
You have a strong point of view on what looks and feels good. You're inspired by great product design — Linear, Stripe, Arc — but you don't cargo-cult. You develop your own sensibility and defend it.
Speed matters.
You don't spend three weeks on a transition spec. You prototype fast, ship it, see how it feels in production, and iterate. Perfection is the result of fast loops, not slow deliberation.
AI-native designer
You use AI tools to prototype and build. Cursor, Claude, Replit, Midjourney — whatever gets you from idea to implementation fastest. The days of a designer silo'd off in Figma are numbered, and you know it.
Fluent in code
You can read and write CSS, work with React components, and implement animations directly in the codebase. You don't need an engineer to translate your vision — you can put it in the product yourself.
Visual storytelling
You understand how motion, color, and typography work together to create an emotional response. You can make a landing page feel exciting or a settings page feel calm — and you know why those are different problems.
Systems thinker
You don't just design one-off animations. You build reusable motion patterns and interaction primitives that work across the entire product. Consistency at scale.
Investment Flow Polish
The moment someone invests on Wefunder should feel significant — not like clicking 'Add to Cart.' Design the transitions, confirmations, and celebratory moments that make investing feel like the big deal it is.
Page Transitions & Scroll Animations
Our marketing pages and founder profiles need to feel alive. Design and implement scroll-driven animations, page transitions, and reveal patterns that make people want to keep scrolling.
Component Motion Library
Build a library of reusable micro-interactions — button hovers, card expansions, modal entrances, toast notifications — that give the entire product a cohesive, polished feel.
Dark Mode Transitions
We use dramatic light-to-dark transitions across our pages. Push these further — make the mode shifts feel cinematic, not just a color swap.
We're the Robinhood for pre-IPO startups. We allow everyone to invest $100 in a startup they love.
Over the past five years, we've helped fund over 900 startups with $500m – including flying cars, space rockets, breweries, Hollywood studios, and potential Ebola cures.
We’re now doubling the size of our team to handle the growth. Trying to keep up!
We’re also a public benefit corporation with a mission of saving the American Dream (https://wefunder.com/charter). Our aim is to sprinkle the Silicon Valley fairy dust across the rest of the country, which often don’t have the same opportunities we take for granted.
