Founding Full Stack Engineer

About the role

We're seeking a highly skilled and proactive engineer to join our YC-backed startup full-time and in person.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone eager to make a substantial impact in a fast-paced, early-stage startup environment. You are expected to thrive in a demanding and fast-moving environment. We are hiring for an on-site role in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

Responsibilities

• Own and develop core product features on both the frontend and backend of our product
• Collaborate with the founders and our customers to conceptualize, design and implement new features
• Maintain and improve our codebase for optimal performance
• Conduct code reviews and perform debugging tasks

Required qualifications

• Proven track record with significant experience in full-stack developer roles, preferably as a Senior Software Engineer
• Comprehensive knowledge of Typescript and React
• Proficiency in Python
• Experienced in operating software in a scalable manner
• Fluent in English, able to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively
• Alignment with our purpose (our why) and our values (our how)

Bonus Skills and Experience

• Proficiency in designing multi-tenancy SaaS products
• Experience with leveraging latest AI Code IDEs (Cursor, Windsurf, Claude, IntelliJ, Junie)
• Experience with hosting applications on Azure
• Fluent in German to communicate with our mostly German customers

Lucas and Stefan founded their first AI company seven years ago (later acquired) and, learning from that journey, launched Venta AI to build AI employees for sales teams. 1. Introductory Zoom Call (15–20 min)
A short call with our CTO to get to know each other and align on expectations.

2. Take-Home Assignment
You’ll receive a coding assignment - a mini version of Venta AI - built with our actual tech stack (Python/FastAPI backend + TypeScript/React frontend). You can complete it in your own time and are welcome to use AI coding tools. All expectations and requirements are detailed in the README.

3. Follow-Up Code Review Call (30 min)
A call with one of our team members to walk through your submission and discuss your approach.

4. On-Site Interview in Amsterdam
Join us for lunch at our office, followed by a 45-minute whiteboard session focused on system design and rapid prototyping.

We typically make an offer the next day (pending a standard background check). We never contact referees without your permission.
The full process usually takes 7–10 days.
