We’re building Tegore to be the default at-home math tutor and are looking for a founding engineer to develop it’s mobile app from scratch to get it into the hands of millions of users.
We’re hiring a sole, founding Android engineer to own the entire mobile product:
- Ship a super-performant Android app that runs smoothly on the average Indian device (Android 8+, 1–2GB RAM, 16–32GB storage).
- Build a voice-forward, multilingual, AI-powered tutor that feels like a game, not school.
This is a 4 month project-based role based in India that has the scope to convert to a full-time role.
Who we’re looking for:
- You are driven to making high-quality education accessible.
- You have built Android apps from scratch and owned them end-to-end.
- You’ve specifically shipped on low-end / emerging market Android devices:
- You think about APK size, cold-start time, memory as first-class problems.
- You’ve measured and improved retention before:
- D1/D7/D30, funnels, A/B tests on onboarding or core loops.
- You’re comfortable working with LLM APIs / voice models:
- You understand prompt design, streaming, caching, and cost/perf tradeoffs.
- You have an ownership mindset.
- You are based in India.
Reach out with 3-5 bullets (why this, why you, etc) if this sounds like a match. We’d love to hear from you!
