Founding Data Analyst

Growth, Revenue, and Operations · Fully Remote US ONLY · Full-time · $90,000–$120,000 + bonus + equity

Position Overview

SyntheticFi, a YC-backed company, is growing at an extraordinary 20%+ MoM over the past year. We provide a product that our target customers (i.e. financial advisors) view as a true differentiator for their practice, helping them retain AUM and win new clients.

With a proven product and strong demand, we are now at an exciting inflection point. As we scale, maintaining clean, reliable data and scalable infrastructure across the business is critical to sustaining this rocket-ship growth.

We’re hiring an Founding Data Analyst to join our Growth and Operations teams and help build the data foundation that powers SyntheticFi’s hyper-growth. This is an early-stage, high-impact role where you’ll work on everything from data wrangling and building data pipelines to formulating and tracking business metrics to optimizing operational workflows.

You’ll work directly with our founders, Tony Yang and Joseph Wang, and collaborate across growth, revenue, and operations functions. Rather than owning a small slice of the business, you’ll gain broad exposure and take on increasing responsibility as you help build and improve the systems that keep the company running and scaling.

What You’ll Work On

• Core data systems across Growth, Revenue, and Operations - Help build and improve the reporting, CRM/HubSpot, and analytics infrastructure that supports day-to-day decision-making across the business.
• Operational analytics - Partner directly with the founders to monitor operational processes, create and track SLAs across onboarding, support, and billing to keep a fast-scaling business clean.
• Workflow automation - Partner with cross-functional teams to streamline manual processes, improve data quality, and support scalable workflows across billing, revenue operations, onboarding, and customer support.

What Success Looks Like

• Reliable data pipelines with source-of-truth tables are documented, tested, and easy for teams to use; data quality issues are caught early through validation and monitoring
• Core company metrics are clearly defined and consistently tracked; teams trust key dashboards and use them daily for decisions
• Less manual reporting and fewer spreadsheet-based workflows
• Faster answers to business questions across the company

Hard Filters

• Bachelor's degree or above in a highlyanalytical field; examples include computer science, data science, statistics, applied mathematics, and other quantitative fields with exposure to programming.  1–3 years of professional experience in data, analytics, or systems roles. 
• Strong SQL proficiency and experience with programming languages commonly used for data work, such as Python, R, Java, Scala, or similar. Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills and comfort working with financial data
• Strong problem-solving ability, exceptional attention to detail, and a willingness to dig into messy, real-world operational data
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally
• Familiarity with modern data engineering tools such as dbt, Airflow, Fivetran, Snowflake, BigQuery, AWS, or Azure is a major plus, with the expectation that candidates can ramp quickly on new tools and systems.

Bonus Points

• Experience with ETL / ELT platforms and cloud data architectures.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS or Azure).
• Strong debugging, triage, and problem-solving skills across complex environments.
• Familiarity with automation tools (Zapier, Retool, etc.) and CRMs (HubSpot preferred).
• Experience in fintech, startups, or high-growth environments.

Compensation & Benefits

We care about early-stage talent, and we show it:

• Base Salary: $90,000 – $120,000
• Bonus: Up to 10% of base salary
• Equity: 0.025% – 0.10% stock options (with meaningful long-term financial upside as the company continues to scale).

SyntheticFi is a U.S.-based team, and we are ONLY considering candidates physically located in the United States. We are open to sponsoring visas for exceptional candidates who are currently based in the U.S.
