UPSC Research & Content Associate (Full Time, Bangalore, India)

We’re looking for someone who has gone deep into the UPSC journey, understands syllabus & current affairs, and student pain points deeply, and can help us build better content systems at SuperKalam.

Location: Bangalore / In-Office
Commitment: Full-time, Monday to Saturday
Compensation: ₹6–10 LPA

About SuperKalam

SuperKalam is building an AI-first learning platform for serious aspirants in India. We are rethinking how students prepare for highly competitive exams through better content, faster feedback loops, stronger user understanding, and tech-first workflows.

We started by solving real problems in UPSC preparation — where students need structure, clarity, high-quality practice, evaluation, and consistent guidance. At SuperKalam, content is not treated as static notes or one-way teaching material. It is closely tied to student outcomes, user feedback, current affairs depth, product thinking, and fast iteration.

We are looking for a Research & Content Associate who has strong firsthand UPSC experience, sharp content instincts, good current affairs understanding, and the ability to work in an AI-first environment.

Role Overview

This is not a teaching role. (though can involve occasional sessions on youtube if required)

This role is for someone who can help SuperKalam build stronger UPSC content systems by combining:

• exam insight
• current affairs understanding
• content judgment
• student empathy
• AI-enabled workflows
• structured listening to users

You should have personally gone deep into the UPSC journey, understand the demands of the exam, and be able to translate that understanding into better content and better user feedback loops.

Because SuperKalam is increasingly tech-first in the way we build, review, and scale learning systems, we are looking for someone who is comfortable with technology and can learn to use AI tools intelligently for content creation, review, research, and workflow improvement.

We would strongly prefer someone who is an engineer, as this role benefits from structured thinking, comfort with tools, and the ability to work closely in an AI-native team environment.

What you’ll do

• Create, review, improve, and maintain UPSC preparation content across different formats
• Ensure content quality remains aligned with the latest UPSC syllabus, question patterns, and recent trends
• Track and interpret current affairs regularly, with seriousness and depth
• Bring strong awareness of important national and global developments relevant for UPSC aspirants
• Work on content refinement across areas like:
  • current affairs
  • issue-based understanding
  • PYQ-linked relevance
  • fact accuracy
  • framing and clarity
• Use AI tools for:
  • content drafting
  • content review
  • faster research
  • quality checks
  • workflow acceleration
• Work closely with the team to identify what kind of content students need most urgently
• Regularly speak to students and users to understand:
  • where they are struggling
  • what they are finding useful
  • what content gaps still exist
  • how SuperKalam can improve the product and learning experience
• Help close the loop between students, content, and product
• Support fast iterations in content based on user feedback and exam relevance
• Contribute to making SuperKalam’s UPSC offering sharper, more relevant, and more useful over time

What we’re looking for

• Must have cleared UPSC Mains at least once in the last 3 years
• Must have appeared seriously in the exam process and have strong familiarity with Prelims, Mains, and the evolving nature of UPSC preparation
• Strong depth in recent current affairs and important national/global developments
• Strong communication skills in English and Hindi
• Strong content judgment and the ability to distinguish between surface-level and exam-relevant material
• Comfortable using AI tools for content creation, review, research, and productivity
• Comfortable using digital tools and online workflows in a fast-moving team
• Strong listening skills and genuine curiosity about student needs
• Ability to talk to users with empathy and extract useful feedback
• Structured thinker with high ownership
• Eager to learn, flexible enough to unlearn, and open to working in an AI-first content environment
