As a Software Engineering Intern at Socratix AI, you’ll work directly with our founding team to build production-grade AI systems used by real fraud and risk teams. This is not a “side project” internship - you’ll ship meaningful features, contribute to live systems, and help shape the product from 0 → 1.
You’ll gain hands-on experience building AI agents, backend systems, and scalable infrastructure while learning what it takes to build a high-growth startup from the ground up.
If you’re excited about AI, ownership, and moving fast, you’ll thrive here.
What You’ll Do
- Learn by building - Work on real agentic AI systems (Python + FastAPI): APIs, multi-agent workflows, and integrations that power enterprise products in critical industries.
- Ship real features - Contribute to LLM workflows, RAG pipelines, and agent orchestration that customers use today.
- Work alongside the team - Collaborate with founders and senior engineers on real roadmap items, not side tasks.
- Grow your craft - Help improve reliability, performance, and scalability while getting feedback and mentorship.
- See impact fast - Be part of customer feedback loops and quick iteration so you see how your work matters.
We treat interns as part of the team: you’ll own real work, get clear feedback, and see your code in production.
What We’re Looking For
Must-haves:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Strong fundamentals in data structures and algorithms.
- Experience with Python or another backend language.
- Familiarity with APIs and web services.
- Curiosity about AI/ML systems and how they work in production.
- Builder mindset - you like shipping real things, not just coursework.
Nice-to-haves (but not required):
- Builder mindset - You’ve shipped something beyond coursework: side projects, hackathons, or contributions to real codebases.
- Exposure to agentic development - Interest or experience with multi-agent systems, agent orchestration, or workflow-style AI (e.g. LangChain, tool use, agent frameworks).
- Experience with LLMs in practice - Any hands-on with LLMs, RAG, embeddings, or prompt engineering, even in personal or academic projects.
What You’ll Gain
- Direct mentorship from founders who’ve built and scaled AI systems at DoorDash, Cruise, LinkedIn, and Unit21.
- Exposure to enterprise customers and real-world AI deployment challenges.
- End-to-end ownership of impactful features.
- Insight into startup execution, fundraising, and product strategy.
- Opportunity to convert to a full-time role based on performance.
Socratix AI builds AI coworkers for fraud and risk teams—agents that investigate alerts in real time and replace manual workflows with fast, explainable decisions. Our agents integrate seamlessly into existing workflows and reason across signals like human analysts, helping teams cut fraud losses, reduce false positives, and scale operations without increasing headcount.
Since launch, we’ve seen strong market traction, closing multiple six-figure contracts. Now, we’re growing quickly to keep pace with demand and are excited to expand our founding team in the San Francisco Bay Area. If you’re passionate about building at the frontier of AI and financial security, we’d love to have you on the journey.
Who We Are
We’ve seen this problem firsthand. At DoorDash, Riya built intelligent fraud detection and investigation tools that saved the company $30M+ annually, and at Unit21, she created products that enabled analysts to work 3× faster. At Cruise, Satya scaled AI systems to handle petabytes of data, and at LinkedIn, he launched enterprise products from 0 → 1, generating millions in new revenue.
Together, we bring deep expertise in fraud and AI (MIT, IIT, UCLA alumni). We’re backed by Y Combinator, Pear VC, and founders/operators from DoorDash, Gusto, Square, OpenAI, and Roblox.
Our mission: to build AI coworkers that transform how fraud and risk teams operate.
Our Culture: F.O.R.C.E.
