About the role

Your role

Saturn needs a Finance function with robust and air-tight accounting infrastructure. This is the mandate you are being hired for.

We are looking for a highly motivated and intellectually curious individual who will manage Saturn’s current accounting infrastructure and help build the systems that scale alongside our business.

Within the Finance team, you will own the ME close process and maintain audit-ready financials for our board and investors. You will also own all processes related to AP/AR, enabling frictionless billing across our entire base of clients and vendors. You will also contribute to building out the Finance function itself: the close calendar, the accounting policies and the controls Saturn needs to establish as it grows.

This is a hands-on seat. You are closing the books yourself while being trusted with critical judgement calls.

The Team

Small and high-calibre by design.

You will be the first dedicated accounting hire within the Finance team, based full-time at our Liverpool Street office. This position comes with autonomy, support, and accountability. You will have a direct impact on how Saturn builds its accounting arm today and into the future.

What You’ll Work On

Short-Term:

  • Run day-to-day billing and AR (subscription invoicing, collections, cash application) and AP (vendor invoices, payment runs, expense review).
  • Learn the ropes of our current bookkeeping and accounting systems.
  • Establish the accounting policies and internal controls that let Saturn scale, from revenue recognition policy to close procedures, as part of your track to Controller.

Long-Term:

  • Own the full month-end close calendar end to end: journal entries, reconciliations, accruals and the deferred revenue schedule, across Saturn and its acquisitions.
  • Identify and implement ways to automate manual billing and invoicing work, using AI tools where they genuinely save time.
  • Build the intercompany and consolidation mechanics across the group: eliminations, FX translation, and the groundwork for clean multi-entity reporting.
  • Apply revenue recognition to our subscription contracts, including renewals, upgrades/downgrades and multi-year deals.
  • Keep financials audit-ready and well-documented year-round, building the rigor that holds up against external scrutiny as Saturn grows.
  • Be the day-to-day point of contact for auditors within your areas.

What We’re Looking For

  • 4+ years of experience in audit or accounting, ideally at a Big 4 or strong mid-tier firm, or equivalent in-house experience.
  • Accounting or audit experience with SaaS or other subscription-based businesses. Tech startup experience beyond that is a strong plus.
  • ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification.
  • Working knowledge of UK GAAP/FRS 102. Familiarity with US GAAP is a strong plus.
  • Hands-on experience with Xero.
  • Comfortable with the mechanics of a month-end close, even if your exposure to date has come from the audit side rather than preparing the books yourself.
  • A self-starter who can grow into the Controller role.
  • Clear, plain-language communication. You will regularly explain accounting concepts to colleagues who aren’t in finance.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary with regular appraisals
  • Competitive equity package at an early stage company with high growth potential
  • Our beautiful new five-floor office, “The Dome”, equipped with an onsite gym and roof terrace
  • Best-in-class dental and medical insurance
  • A dedicated budget for learning and professional development
  • Access to an additional world-class gym and wellness centre two minutes from the office
  • A tight-knit, ambitious team that cares deeply about quality and each other

About Saturn

About Saturn

Saturn is a Series A-backed fintech transforming how financial advice is delivered.

We operate in one of the world's largest industries. Wealth and asset managers oversee more than $100 trillion and generate over $1 trillion in annual revenue, yet much of the infrastructure used to manage that wealth remains fragmented, manual and institution-specific.

Saturn is starting with the productivity and compliance systems used by financial advisers.

Our story

Saturn joined Y Combinator in 2024 and became one of the fastest-growing B2B companies in its batch.

We grew organically to a meaningful share of the UK financial advice market before acquiring the legacy leader, one of the industry's most established compliance rule engine and suitability businesses, in 2025.

That acquisition combined AI-native product engineering with more than two decades of regulatory expertise, proprietary compliance logic and deep industry distribution.

Within two years of launch, Saturn became the leading provider of AI transformation to UK financial advice firms, supporting more than 9,000 regulated advice professionals who manage about $500bn in assets.

We have proved distribution, trust and demand. The most important infrastructure is still
