Founding Engineer - AI & Full-Stack
About the role
We’re looking for a founding full-stack engineer who’s passionate about building AI systems that solve real-world problems in fintech. You’ll work directly with the founders to design, build, and scale the AI infrastructure that powers our next-generation financial agents.
This is not just a coding role — it’s a chance to own product decisions, shape technical direction, and build the foundation of a platform that’s transforming financial operations globally.

What You’ll Do
- Build end-to-end features with our stack: React/Typescript + Python
- Architect complex systems and guide AI Coding Agents to build the next generation of PathPilot technology
- Drive key tech decisions, define APIs, and scale new capabilities as we grow
- Build the frameworks that will enable us move faster
What We’re Looking For
- Strong full-stack development experience — you’ve built and shipped products end to end.
- Solid understanding of LLMs (prompt design, fine-tuning, embeddings, or orchestration frameworks like LangChain/LlamaIndex).
- Experience with data-intensive applications (e.g., chat logs, CRM data, or financial data pipelines).
- Ability to move fast, prioritize impact, and make pragmatic technical decisions.
- Passion for AI as a product, not just as a model — you care about user experience, outcomes, and trust.
- Comfort working in a small, fast-moving team with high ownership and autonomy.
Nice to Have
- Experience as founder
- Experience in fintech, banking, lending, or compliance systems.
- Familiarity with agentic frameworks or multi-agent orchestration.
- Cloud experience (AWS, GCP, or on-prem setups).

PathPilot was co-founded by Victor Laguna, former engineer and engineering manager at Facebook with a focus on video products, and Vladimir Korshin, returning to Y Combinator after successfully selling his previous company, Level. Together, we're set on creating a product that will change the way businesses interact with their customers.
