At OpenFunnel, we are building a Real-time Data Engine for GTM Teams and Agents.

About the Role

As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you'll be the technical owner of our most strategic customer relationships. You'll embed deeply with customers - understanding their GTM motions, ICP definitions, CRM setups, and data workflows - and translate messy, ambiguous asks into working software on OpenFunnel's platform. You will do whatever it takes - visiting Customers on site or using MCPs, APIs, AI Agents to help customers succeed with OpenFunnel.

This is not just support role. You'll scope, build, deploy features go live in production that will be used by customers on the same day. You'll sit at the intersection of engineering, product, and GTM - shipping fast, helping customers.

Responsibilities

  • Own customer onboarding and implementation end-to-end.
  • Train the best GTM teams to operationalize OpenFunnel into their daily flows.
  • Write Agent Skills to train customer’s Agents on OpenFunnel’s latest releases & feature sets
  • Continuously engage with customers to understand what workflows are required and blocking - and then unblock them.
  • Write production-grade backend and full-stack code (Python, TypeScript) to extend OpenFunnel's platform for customer-specific workflows.
  • Act as the technical face of OpenFunnel in key accounts - building trust through speed, accuracy, and impact.
  • Feed customer learnings back into the product team: identify reusable patterns, flag friction points, and influence the roadmap.

What We're Looking For

  • 1–3 years of software engineering experience with real ownership of features or customer-facing deployments.
  • Loves talking to customers and seeing them succeed fast.
  • Strong coding ability, comfortable building APIs, backend systems, and data pipelines (Python or TypeScript preferred).
  • Power user of Agent Coding tools like Claude Code and related concepts that emerge weekly.
  • Systems understanding of how Infrastructure, DevOps and how Agents are deployed in production.
  • Talking to customers daily: An innate curiosity to understand customers, their pain-points and inferring what will make them succeed.

Nice to Have

  • Being an Ex-founder is a major plus.
  • Familiarity with search infrastructure, data pipelines, or NLP-adjacent systems.
  • Experience in a forward deployed, solutions engineering, or customer-facing technical role.
  • Understanding of B2B sales motions, ICP frameworks, or account-based marketing.
