About the role

Nash is building the Autonomic Logistics OS

Full Stack Engineer

San Francisco / Hybrid/Remote

About Nash

Logistics is the substrate beneath every economy that has ever existed, and it remains the least intelligently coordinated activity in the modern world. Consumer expectations are converging on instantaneous, perfect, free. Networks are not. We call this gap the Logistics Singularity, and closing it is the work.

Nash is the Autonomic Logistics OS. We unify decisioning, execution, and capacity into a single programmable system that pursues a business’s objectives continuously, adapts as conditions change, and runs the operation at equilibrium across orders, fleets, carriers, providers, and customers. The world’s largest retailers, grocers, and pharmacies (including Walmart, 7-Eleven, Woolworths, and Coles) run their critical workflows on Nash.

Founded by Mahmoud Ghulman and Aziz Alghunaim, and backed by Y Combinator, a16z, and other top investors. We are based in San Francisco.

About the Role

We are looking for a Full Stack Engineer to design and build the Nash portal: the surface where operators see the autonomic system at work. Every order in flight, every delivery in motion, every route being continuously optimized as conditions on the ground change. You will own features end to end across React and Python, working directly with our VP of Engineering, CTO/ co-founder, product, design, and engineering.

The right person here cares as much about a fast, considered interface as about the service behind it. The portal is where customers experience the platform, and the difference between a workable workflow and a great one almost always shows up here.

What You’ll Do

  • Build and ship features end to end across the stack, from the React and TypeScript portal operators rely on every shift, to the Python services and APIs that power it.
  • Translate logistics problems into products. Partner with PM, design, and operations to turn messy real-world workflows into interfaces and systems that fit how customers actually run their business.
  • Contribute to system design and architectural decisions across the platform, balancing reliability, security, and scalability against the speed the business needs.
  • Write clean, well-tested code, drive thoughtful code reviews, and raise the bar on engineering standards across the team.
  • Debug and resolve production issues across frontend and backend, with the automated tests and observability that catch problems before customers do.
  • Build responsive, high-performance interfaces with a sharp eye for latency, loading and error states, and the edge cases that decide whether an operator trusts the product.
  • Support a strong engineering culture through mentorship, thoughtful reviews, and shared ownership of technical standards.

What You’ll Bring

  • 4+ years building and shipping full-stack web applications in production. 5+ years of software engineering experience with a track record of shipping production systems is a plus.
  • Strong React skills (or equivalent modern frameworks), with deep working knowledge of TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and component-driven architecture.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and modern backend frameworks.
  • Experience designing and working with GraphQL and RESTful APIs, relational databases (PostgreSQL), and familiarity with NoSQL stores. Comfort working in microservices or service-oriented architectures.
  • Solid system design, coding, and testing skills on both sides of the stack.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and modern deployment practices.
  • Product sense and craft. You care about how things feel, not just whether they work.
  • Strong communicator who collaborates well across product, design, operations, and data, and can drive ambiguous problems to a clear outcome.
  • High agency in a fast-paced environment.
  • Mentorship instincts: experience growing other engineers through reviews, pairing, or technical leadership is a plus.
  • Strong preference for the Bay Area. Nash runs a hybrid-first product team out of our San Francisco office.

Bonus

  • Experience with Flask, SQLAlchemy, or WebSockets.
  • Background in integration-heavy or real-time systems.
  • Prior startup experience (not required).

Why This Role Matters

The Nash portal is how the world’s largest retailers, grocers, and pharmacies actually run their logistics: where every order is visible, every delivery in motion is tracked, and every route optimization plays out in front of the team responsible for it. The portal you build will be the daily home base for dispatchers, operators, and merchant teams, on the day a normal Tuesday stays quiet, and on the day a storm closes half the routes. A better portal means better decisions, faster recoveries, and more promises kept.

If you want to build full-stack products that meet the real, messy, physical world, and to see your work compound across every retailer and fleet that runs on Nash, this is the role.

What You’ll Love About Us

  • Massive ownership and autonomy, with direct collaboration with the founders.
  • Quarterly team on-sites to bond and align in person.
  • Competitive compensation and meaningful equity.
  • Flexible paid time off.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.

EEOC

At Nash, we believe diverse teams are the strongest teams. We invite applicants of all genders, races, ethnicities, nationalities, ages, religions, sexual orientations, disability statuses, educational experiences, family situations, and socio-economic backgrounds.

About Nash

Nash is building the logistics infrastructure for the internet.

Last mile is a $500B industry powering digital commerce but managed largely with self managed API integrations. Nash approaches last mile orchestration with information completeness solutions from checkout, courier management, customer engagement, and post-purchase experience. Doing this enables merchants and customers to capture immense efficiencies, drive better customer experience, reliability and business outcomes.

We are working towards a mission of processing a double digit percentage of every physical last-mile transaction. We achieve this by providing top of the market modules for each step of the customer journey and leveraging the network effects from having more information that allows traditional competitors to collaborate. It’s a big mission, but we are already seeing strong market pull as we are already serving some of the largest retailers in the world like Walmart, 7-Eleven and Woolworths.

Nash was founded in 2021 by Mahmoud Ghulman (2x Founder, MIT) and Aziz Alghunaim (2x Founder, 2x YC, Ex-Palantir, MIT) and has raised funding from top investors, including Y-Combinator and a16z, to build the world’s best logistics infrastructure platform. We are based in SF.
