About the role

ABOUT HITPAY

HitPay is the payments and business operations platform for SMEs across Asia Pacific — cards, e-wallets, bank transfers, PayNow, QR, invoicing, POS, and payouts in one onboarding flow, one dashboard, and one API. Founded in Singapore (YC S21), we are licensed or registered across six markets and backed by Y Combinator, Tiger Global, Global Founders Capital, and HOF Capital.

More than 15,000 SMEs use HitPay. We have saved merchants over US$35M in fees (Trustpilot 4.4/5). The core business is Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Hong Kong, and Australia. The United States is the next corridor we are building in public.

For US merchants, one HitPay account does both sides of that corridor: collect from customers in America, and pay suppliers in Asia — one place instead of a POS, a bank, and a wire.

THE ROLE

This is one of the first 1–2 US Account Executives. You are a corridor field seller, not a generic SMB AE.

You live in the market you sell: Los Angeles / San Gabriel Valley (Koreatown + City of Industry) first, or New York metro / New Jersey (Flushing, Edison). You sit with owner-operators — Chinese import wholesale, Korean grocery, ethnic specialty retail — and replace the unbundled stack they run today (collect here, wire there).

You sell the account: US collect plus paying Asia suppliers from the same place. You own the merchant from first walk-in to first transaction. No SDR handoff.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

  • Prospect in your corridor: store visits, association halls, bilingual ISOs, and warm intros from HitPay merchants in Asia who already sell to these owners.
  • Demo the one account: collect in the US (including account-to-account / FedNow QR) and pay suppliers in Asia — not a POS plus a separate bank wire.
  • Close owner-operators and stay accountable until they are live and transacting on both sides of the corridor.
  • Carry a number. Keep the CRM honest.
  • Feed the field back to product. What grocers and importers actually need shapes what we ship next.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • 3+ years selling to owner-operators in ethnic merchant acquiring, grocery POS, import-wholesale field, or a community-bank merchant desk.
  • Mandarin and/or Korean — you can run the meeting in the owner's language.
  • A rolodex in KAGRO-class grocers, SGV importers, or Flushing/Edison wholesalers — or you know how to build one on foot.
  • Based in LA / San Gabriel Valley or NYC metro / NJ. This is not a remote US job.
  • Authorized to work in the US.

WHO THIS IS NOT

  • Square cafe / coffee-shop AEs
  • Stripe platform AEs
  • Ramp / Brex / spend-card sellers
  • Airwallex / Aspire treasury-only
  • Remote US generalist SaaS AEs

WHY THIS ROLE

You are not joining a national spray motion. You are opening one corridor: Asia-owned businesses that collect in America and pay suppliers in Asia, on one HitPay account. The first hire is LA. The second is a second LA seat or NYC. Same job, same ICP.

About the interview

Screen, then interview. Typical time to offer is about 30 days.
