The Role:
About 70% of our users have never coded before. They are small business owners, solo founders, and operators who had an idea and no engineer to build it with. We are hiring a writer to run the words across our social channels. You will write the day-to-day content that goes out on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, and LinkedIn: short-form video scripts, captions, on-screen text, threads, community posts, and replies from the brand account.

Most of our audience is in the US and Europe. You should be comfortable writing for those markets without needing anyone to explain the reference. This is a full-time role based in Bangalore, reporting to the Head of Brand and Marketing.

What You'll Do:

• Write short-form video scripts and captions for Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube on a daily cadence
• Write posts and threads for X and LinkedIn
• Spot trends, formats, and news moments early and turn them into content while they are still relevant, usually within 48 hours
• Decide which trends are worth joining and which ones to leave alone
• Build content ideas that people want to participate in, share, or argue with, rather than only consume
• Run the brand account's replies and comment sections
• Find real users who have built something with Emergent and turn their stories into content
• Work with the design and video team so scripts are written for what can actually be produced
• Track what worked, share it with the team, and change the approach when the numbers say so

What We're Looking For:

• At least 5 years writing and managing content for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, and LinkedIn
• A body of work that performed, with the numbers to show it
• Strong understanding of internet culture in the US and Europe
• Ability to work fast and make calls without waiting for sign-off
• Comfort writing differently for each platform
