About the role

TLDR

Education is one of the biggest levers on human potential and human fulfilment, but barely any elite talent is working on it.

Mission: For every student on Earth to love learning.

Vision: A world where every student learns like the luckiest 0.1%: curiosity-led, mastery-based and supported by world-class teachers and mentors.

Product: Edexia is a YC-backed (W25) AI grading and feedback platform built for secondary school teachers. It aligns with each teacher's own grading standards to deliver accurate, consistent feedback at scale-reducing marking workloads from 10-20 hours to 2-4 hours per cycle while enabling more frequent, higher-quality formative feedback.

We're hiring our first two Founding School Partnerships Leads / Account Executives. One will own New South Wales and the other Victoria.

Why now

School partnerships have been founder-led to date. We now have a strong initial motion and more school opportunities than the founders can personally pursue.

You will inherit a starting structure, direct founder support and help with prospecting logistics-but not a mature territory, a large SDR team or a finished playbook. Your job is to run the motion, identify what is not working, improve it and establish practices future hires can inherit.

Funding: Approximately US$4.2M raised at a roughly US$35M valuation. Backers include Paul Graham, Geoff Ralston, Tim Brady, the CEO of ClassDojo, the co-founder of Clever, Airtree and Rethink Education.

Team: A small international team of second-time founders, olympiad medallists, a national-level athlete and unusually high-agency builders.

What you'll own

You will own the entire school-partnership process for your state: account prioritisation, outreach, discovery, demonstrations, closing, onboarding, expansion and ongoing success.

  • Own your territory: build a prioritised map of schools, departments, associations and influential educators.
  • Create pipeline: use email, phone, LinkedIn, referrals, conferences, educator benchmarking sessions and creative account development. A go-to-market operator will support research and logistics, but you are responsible for your pipeline.
  • Build trusted relationships: earn credibility with Heads of Department, assessors, teaching associations and school leaders.
  • Run discovery and tailored demonstrations: understand each school's marking workflow and show Edexia against real student work-not a generic feature tour.
  • Build consensus and close: develop internal champions, navigate multiple school stakeholders and maintain momentum through close.
  • Onboard and expand: ensure teachers receive genuine value, then grow strong accounts across year levels, subjects and departments.
  • Build the function: improve our messaging, qualification, events, objections, CRM discipline and overall partnership process.
  • Shape the product: bring what you learn from schools directly to the founders and engineering team.

Who we're looking for

There is no single correct résumé for this role.

You might be:

  • An experienced SaaS or EdTech salesperson who wants substantially more ownership.
  • An educator who sees this as a higher-leverage way to improve education.
  • An exceptional early-career operator with strong evidence of agency, competitiveness, persuasion and rapid learning.

We care about three broad dimensions:

  • Underlying capabilities: drive, agency, learning speed, communication, discipline and the ability to sustain repetitive work.
  • Sales ability: prospecting, discovery, demonstrations, multi-stakeholder selling, negotiation and closing.
  • Educational credibility: understanding schools, speaking teachers' language and earning the trust of educators and school leaders.

Different backgrounds can succeed, but the ownership and performance bar is the same.

Location

Location is flexible. The wider team is currently based in Brisbane, but we are open to strong candidates based elsewhere in Australia. Each hire will own New South Wales or Victoria and must be willing to travel regularly for school visits, conferences and educator benchmarking sessions. We care more about your ability to build trust and spend time in your territory than your exact home city.

Compensation

A high-upside package with competitive base salary, uncapped commission and meaningful equity. Exceptional performance should produce exceptional rewards.
