About the role

About the role

We're hiring a senior neuroscientist to lead key aspects of our work in applied active inference, moving theoretical frameworks into models we test against real human data. Hands-on research role reporting directly to the CEO.

What you'll lead

Aspects of model development alongside our ML lead. The design and execution of our next phase of data collection: what we measure, how, and what protocols pull clean signal from both controlled and naturalistic settings. Translating what the data tells us back into the model.

Who you'll work with

You'll engage as a peer with several of the leading active inference researchers across labs in the US, UK, and EU, co-designing studies, co-authoring where it makes sense, and keeping our science in dialogue with the frontier. Internally: the ML lead and the CEO.

What we're looking for

PhD in neuroscience, cognitive science, or an adjacent field, with a publication record in active inference applied to interoception, affect, or emotion. Deep mathematical fluency. Track record of designing human studies for behavioral and physiological data. Comfortable moving between theory, experiment, and code.

Why this role

Most active inference work lives in papers. This role is about taking ideas that have matured in the literature and putting them to work in the real world, with the rigor to know whether they hold up.
